My Favorite Beauty and Makeup Things

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

I love all things fashion and beauty. I remember sneaking my mom's lipstick in my backpack to put on when I got to school. I am not a trendy person, or follow trends. I wear what I like and what I think looks good. I am obsessed with makeup and love the idea that you can change your appearance with the stroke of a brush. Makeup is all about having fun and making your own rules.

I have been doing my makeup and my sisters’ makeup since I can remember so I decided this year I would get my makeup certification and I did. I am now a certified makeup artist! I can't believe it. I didn't do it because I wanted a career change or to do makeup on the side. I did because it has always been a fun hobby of mine and I decided, why not. What I have realized is that there is a lot more to makeup than eye-shadow colors. I also get tips from millennials (they have good tips) and make-up artists that have been doing this for some time. My skin is very dry, I have eczema and I have had to kiss a lot of frogs to find the perfect products that work best for my skin.

Here are a few of my favorite tried and true products, just in time for the holidays:

Skin Care

1. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

2. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

3. Aquaphor Ointment

4. Blistex Lip Medex

5. Lancome Visionnaire Eye Balm

6. Sheseido Pureness Matifying Moisturizer Oil-Free

7. Sheisedo Perfect Cleansing Oil

8. Sheseido Pureness Balancing Softener Alcohol-Free

Make-Up

1. Mac Lip-glass neutrals (c-thru is one of my favorites)

2. Urban Decay- Better than sex mascara (not in my opinion, but it is pretty good)

3. Make Up Forever Concealer

4. Face and Body Glitter by NYX (these are great if want some extra sparkle)

5. Smashbox Foundations (they are water based and make you look even without overdoing it)

6. Nars Foundation (if you want full coverage this is the foundation for you. A little goes a long way)

7. Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Lipstick (Any color, they wear well and last long)

8. Urban Decay Naked Palette (a classic)

9. Tréstique brow pencil (I discovered this from a YouTube video and it is amazing if you have sparse eyebrows).

10. Neutrogena make-up remover wipes

Most of all, stay hydrated! You want to put makeup on a clean and clear palette so that it looks flawless. What are some of your favorites?
